Terms of use
Last updated 23 October 2026
The short version
- Your writing is yours. We only use it to run Fairtake for you.
- Suggestions can be wrong. You decide what to keep, and you're responsible for what you publish.
- Fairtake is free during early access, and we never charge you without your agreement.
- Don't use Fairtake to harm people or to break the service.
- You can delete your account whenever you like.
Your account
You need to be at least 18, or have a parent or guardian's permission, to create an account. Keep your password to yourself: you're responsible for what happens in your account. One account is for one person.
Your writing is yours
We don't own anything you write in Fairtake. You let us store your documents and process them only to provide the service: saving them, showing them to you, and sending a passage to our rewrite service when you press Rewrite. We don't sell your writing, show ads, or use it to train anything. The privacy policy has the details.
Suggestions and rewrites
Fairtake's checks and rewrites are made by software, and software gets things wrong. Every suggestion is an offer: read it before you use it. Don't rely on Fairtake alone for writing where a mistake could cause real harm, such as legal, medical or safety information. What you publish is your responsibility.
Free in early access
During early access Fairtake is free: every check, the browser extension and 10 rewrites a day. Limits like the daily rewrite count may change as we learn what people need. Spelling and grammar checks will always be free. If we add a paid plan, we'll tell you first, and we'll never charge you without your agreement.
The browser extension
The extension checks the text box you're writing in, on your device, and sends nothing anywhere. It doesn't run in password fields or in fields a site marks not to spellcheck, and you can switch it off for any site.
Fair use
Please don't use Fairtake to:
- break the law, or harass, threaten or deceive people;
- create spam, malware or content that exploits anyone;
- get into other people's accounts or data;
- overload, scrape or attack the service, or get around its limits;
- copy or resell the service itself.
If an account breaks these terms, we may suspend it. Where we can, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
The service, as it is
We work to keep Fairtake running and your documents safe, but it's provided as is, without guarantees that it will always be available or free of errors. Keep your own copies of anything important: you can download any document as .docx or .txt. We may change or stop parts of the service; if we ever shut it down, we'll give you time to download your documents first.
As far as the law allows, we're not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost opportunities, and our total liability to you is limited to what you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim, which during early access is nothing. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have by law.
Ending
You can delete your account at any time in Account → Delete account. That removes your documents, dictionary and settings, as the privacy policy describes.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. For changes that matter, we'll email you before they take effect. If you keep using Fairtake after that, the new terms apply.
Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of India.
